City Lands Advisory Committee

The City of Whittier is looking for local residents to join the City Lands Advisory Committee! This group will help advise the City Council on how to best use and manage city-owned land.

Who Can Apply:

  • For four out of the five members, you must live in Whittier.
  • The fifth member does not have to be a resident, but must have a background in property development, management, or similar experience.
  • The Mayor will appoint members, and the City Council will confirm the appointments.
  • Terms last one year, but you can be reappointed.

What the Committee Does:

  • The committee is there to offer advice to the City Council, not to make decisions.
  • Meetings will happen at least once every three months, possibly more if needed.
  • Members help identify land issues and make recommendations to the City Council.
